O’MELVENY PRO BONO PROGRAM REVIEW 2018- 2019 25 Assisting in the Creation of a Global Conservation Organization O’Melveny represented Rainforest Alliance in a merger with UTZ, a Dutch NGO, that resulted in the creation of the world’s largest conservation organization dedicated to the certification of sustainably sourced forestry and agricultural products. The combined company will have more than 500 employees in 78 countries, and intends to create a single global standard to simplify certification of sustainable sourcing for farmers. Rainforest Alliance (known for its green frog logo) combats environmental and social problems associated with forestry and agriculture, including climate change, deforestation, poverty, and unsustainable farming. Reducing Pollution in Our Oceans Ocean Recovery Alliance is a registered non- profit in California and in Hong Kong.
